Pros

Everyone was usually very friend to your face, with the exception of a few people.

Cons

Unrealistic expectations: When you start this job, you either know a lot or you know absolutely nothing but It doesn't really matter because you're tossed into the queue after a few weeks and left to mostly depend on your coworkers for support. The better you do, the more work they dump on you and they don't really care whether you know what you're doing or not. Don't understand something? Push it up to the next tier. If they don't understand something? Good luck. Mandatory on-call with extremely little incentive to care. Promises made to customers by sales created a very hostile customer base. Clients would state we claimed 100% uptime on old, unreliable hardware. It was absurd. The rate of growth was rapid and there were never enough hands on deck to support the growth. The work became exponentially more stressful the larger the company grew, but there was never any wage increase without a massive fight. Lower than average pay with no real path to grow: You'll be given weird goals such as "get certs and we'll evaluate your pay", but they would never elaborate on what certs would equate to what pay. After being promoted, it took 8 months to officially get my title and pay raise, but I was still doing the work of the new position. I would request meetings with my manager constantly and I was always told "I'm working on it" when we finally met. I felt like they took advantage of me and it left an extremely sour taste in my mouth. Higher skilled workers were often paid less than newer, less skilled workers because they started earlier. I made $5000 more than an employee who worked there for 7 or so years who had significantly more experience than myself. 3 new employees made $5000 more than me at a lower tier. The company had no plans for yearly raises and there was often a "don't talk about your salary" discussion tossed around. 1 workers salary was often used an example as to why the CEO would never give a raise again. That employee made $20,000 more than most employees on average and when everyone found out, they all asked for raises at once. This apparently upset the CEO who I was told proclaimed he would not be giving anyone raises again, as if it's the employees fault for being upset that he was underpaying everyone. Archaic mindset: For a company constantly trying to sell the latest technology, they're sure stuck in the past. There was extremely limited work from home options after COVID started cooling off. At one point, we were told to come back into the office 3 days a week because...why? No reason was given, especially when we proved we could do our entire job just fine from home. We had to fight to get 2 days a week remote and it just wasn't even worth it half the time. It was theorized that management just liked counting heads and was one of my major reasons for deciding to leave.
