Pros

Promising technology platform and core principle idea, and the opportunity to work on some of the digital health solutions with the biggest biopharma partners out there. The founding members in the C-Suite are humble, kind, and knowledgeable in their domains. Plenty of big names and venture funding to back them up.

Cons

BrightInsight is trying to become a run of the mill SaaS company with a rinse and repeat business model where they can scale fast. There company has pivoted from a SaMD focus to a traditional IT infrastructure focus that is all about deployment and scale. At the outset, this may sound like it makes sense, but then when you consider the initial and entire value proposition of the platform, you realize this makes no sense if you just copy the development, launch, and maintenance models of other IT services (all of whom have failed in SaMD). This is what happens when you get a bunch of B2C SaaS Execs. and Mgmt Consultants to run the company who have ZERO concept of what a medical device takes and the true service, technology, and documentation needs of medtech. A lot of new leadership have all been hired in from teams and organizations with very little hands-on expertise and experience in the medical device world (believe me I can tell just by talking to them). This fact is captured in what they value (smooth talk to assuage customers, business jargon, and acting before thinking about RISK/consequences), all of this is at odds with the PROCESS needed to capture the end result of a safe and efficacious product. Speaking of process, let me begin. BrightInsight has HUGE process overhead when it comes to the unnecessary and the zero yield discussions. For instance, what to offer for WFH equipment, data for employee satisfaction (zero progress here btw), and how to decide on deciding the best finance tracking software (why can't the execs. input HERE vs. on actual product development and delivery?!). Where process is lacking and it is a giant cluster of future audit risk and free-for-all is in the actual design control processes, DevOps, Testing (VnV), you know, the actual work to make a medical device? Anyways, this rant is long enough. Don't even get me started about the large layoff that just happened right before the Thanksgiving break; good talent is hard enough to find already, let alone medtech SaMD talent, funding should last a while even though ARR has underperformed, there is ZERO reason for layoffs besides to boost Q4 numbers (sound like a bunch of consultants anyone?).

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and opinions about our Company and, while I'm disappointed in some of your assertions, I accept accountability for what is an evident failure to communicate. Pros

After years of hard work, it's incredibly rewarding to see our mission, our products, and the market all clicking into place — this alignment has been a long time in the making and it's finally here. We have real proof points that show we can positively modify human behavior so patients benefit more from life-sustaining therapy, which is the kind of impact most people in healthcare only get to dream about. On top of that, it's genuinely exciting to work for an AI-forward company that is actively reinventing the way it works in the service of customers — we're not just talking about transformation, we're living it. Growth in patient impact, customer experience, and BrightInsight's financial performance will be the story of 2026.

Cons

We are challenging everything — the way we work, the priorities we focus on, the market we're aligned to. It is daunting and exciting in equal measure. People do work really hard here (a theme in other reviews), but it will be worth it.

I have to start this response with my compliments for the Inga Rose reference. One of my absolute favorites. Beyond that, thank you for such an optimistic and exciting review. You talk about things that we experience everyday in a manner that drives energy and commitment and makes us feel as if anything is possible. Thank you! - SVP, People

Pros

Flexible work from home policy.

Cons

The company lacks a clear long-term direction and has struggled with stability over the past few years. There have been frequent rounds of layoffs, coupled with low employee retention and ongoing turnover within the leadership team. Teams often operate with minimal resources, and internal processes, particularly within HR and Operations, feel disorganized and underdeveloped, which can make day-to-day work challenging.

Thank you for your review. We have been working "on the business" while not losing focus on our customers and the priorities we've attached to them. Can't argue that we are operating with lean teams committed to doing big things. At the same time, we have a clear sense of where we are going and how we will get there. This is a really good time to be at BrightInsight. - SVP People
