Pros

Pays well for an early stage company, nice perks like free lunch, dinners, massages Working with smart teammates (though they're constantly joining and leaving) Great PR that makes it sound like everything is going well at the company

Cons

No product market fit, company isn't doing that well, sketchy HR practices, lots of office politics and favoritism, executives treat everyone else like children. They are able to hire lots of smart people because of their long term mission but don't know how to take the right steps to get there.

Pros

Endless amounts of money (though how it's spent is VERY questionable at times), beautiful office space with lunch provided every day and otherwise good facilities. Flexible PTO policy. Friendly employees.

Cons

Lots of product pivots after trying something for a few months and realizing it doesn't work. Generally the team doesn't feel engaged on the product that they're building at any given time, and leadership is too willing to bend to whatever the company's main funder wants, which is understandable but makes it hard for employees to feel committed. Little growth opportunities within the company. Abhorrent HR practices. Lots of talk about creating company values and culture, but no action. Clear favoritism of certain employees by members of the leadership team, which leads to really disappointing decisions and hypocrisy.
