Pros

Making pretzels is genuinely fun. Baking can be very therapeutic . Space was organized, training was adequate. Not hard work, you show up on time, you follow instructions, you do some reasonable cleaning tasks, you go home. Back when I was there they let you take a few left over pretzels at the end of the day and you could trade with other vendors for food. They donated the rest, which I appreciate. At the time compensation was pretty competitive for a entry level position. (It was like 10 or 11/hr but it was also 2014)

Cons

Management was very disorganized and unprofessional. If you needed time off or to request a change in schedule it was always a problem, even if I had already found my own coverage and needed approval. I have an old phone I still have from when I worked there which I've kept specifically for receipts of the incredibly long belittling and angry text I got once for asking permission to have my shift covered by someone else. I cried, it was awful. I had never really upset an employer before (or since tbh) and waking up to that text really messed me up. Generally, Management (though not the owner -I really didn't see her much as they were working hard to expand to Cincinnati at the time) seemed to resent working there and resent the people working with them. They would also get angry at you for asking questions. They would leave a list of prep to do before close or open but sometimes things would be unclear. Reaching out to Management for clarification would most likely not garner or response or you would get a response that was angry and unprofessional.
