Management By Fear At Its Best - Back Office Branded Restaurants Employee Review

Pros

- Free lunch from the restaurant next door - Decent salary

Cons

- Company is lead by people who don't know how to communicate effectively. There are mainly 2 person running the company: the Managing Director and the owner. The Director is a nice person, cool guy who swears alot (a middle aged version of Stiffler from American Pie) and tend to get panic when bad situation occurred. The owner is a maniac, always yell at people whenever is in a bad mood (even at people who don't work for him). At many occasion, they have differences in handling restaurant issues. Both would give you different direction which lead to confusion. Whenever you follow one instruction and ignore the other, you will be getting screamed at. Turnover is high, mainly because employees couldn't handle constant yelling and finger pointing. Workload here is pretty average, but I always left the office feeling tired on daily basis because of this toxic environment, which made me quit the job here. You constantly hear employees complaining behind management's back for the same reason. - No benefits provided (health coverage, 401K)

Pros

It was a good work environment after I got rid of the toxic staff members at my location, the food was good, and the guests were good to talk to.

Cons

I would be stuck working around 70+ hours a week because the GM refuses to close. He also doesnt know anything about running a restaurant, only clubs, which he tried to turn the place into with no success. The owner does not appreciate any of the work you do that pushes the restaurant in a positive direction and instead only focuses on the negative.
