Cons
Management lacked empathy and the willingness to be patient as I developed a new skill. After coming back from Parental leave(3 months), I was assigned a project that was outside of the scope of my skill set. I was transparent with management about this but expressed a willingness to step up to the challenge. Management placed unrealistic expectations on me and after two months of me learning something completely new, applying the things i learned and feeling like I’m making some sort of progress on the project, I was let go for “performance reasons”. I was literally given a shoutout by management for my contributions to the project 3 to 4 weeks prior to being terminated.
