Pros

Most of the people at Brain Bytes were awesome people to work with!

Cons

The leadership at Brain Bytes comprises long-tenured individuals who exhibit unwavering commitment to the company, often extending beyond regular working hours. This dedication is mirrored in their expectations of employees, who are urged to mirror their level of devotion. However, despite this commitment, the compensation offered often falls below industry standards for comparable positions, yet demands for extensive overtime persist. Initial training appears well-structured, yet in practice, additional support is lacking. Requests for further guidance are met with directives to self-solve, leaving employees feeling unsupported. Consequently, when attempting to implement solutions independently, they are chastised for deviating from unspecified preferences.

Pros

Flexible work hours Management is open to feedback and constructive criticism Nice Office Cool people Lots of opportunity to grow and pickup responsibilities. I have never seen someone fired without extremely good reasons, and multiple opportunities to correct their mistakes. I once yelled at one of the owners about a project management issue we were having and they allowed me to cool down and talk about the issue the next day. This is a level of understanding and security I have not found anywhere else. Contract to hire is done professionally and responsibly, After 2 years of working as a contractor I switched to W2. Owners are extremely professional and at the same time friendly. They always listen to what you have to say and make themselves available to hear your concerns.

Cons

The company culture appears unprofessional and disorganized at first glance. Which can cause whiplash for some who are coming from extremely corporate environments. Unfortunately sometimes new people mistake the culture for laziness and adopt that trait themselves. At first it was hard to deal with all the freedom afforded to me. I had to learn to manage my own time and to complete goals by the deadline I was given. Don't try to work at Brain Bytes if you are not a "self starter"
