Pros
Brady offers decent compensation and a good benefits package, especially their pension and RSP/401k matching. Brady's printers and software for workplace health, safety, and identification are the gold standard, which makes them enjoyable to sell.
Cons
I have never worked anywhere that made me feel more like a disposable, unimportant cog being ground down in a faceless, uncaring machine than I did at Brady. Brady takes a 1950s style, top down, micromanaging approach to their employee relations. Decisions taken at management and C-suite levels that affect the every day job functions of frontline, client facing staff are implemented with little to no explanation or training. Popular products disappear from the catalogue for no apparent reason, often with no replacement, leaving client facing employees frustrated with the lack of information for irate customers. Feedback from employees who wish to share suggestions on how to perform their roles more effectively is not encouraged and does not appear to be wanted by any level of management. Positive encouragement and constructive criticism is not Brady's strong suite. Corporate management culture seems centered around brow beating employees into doing their jobs the way they are told and not asking questions. Personal time off allocation is average at best, but management makes it as difficult as possible to take any short notice PTO, so make sure to plan your vacation time months in advance. The end result of all these issues is a less than friendly corporate culture that creates siloed departments, discourages individuals from going out of their way to help fellow employees for fear of falling afoul of management's byzantine processes and protocols, and creates islands of isolated information as individuals jealously guard what little autonomous power they have scratched and clawed from the institutional fog that permeates the organization's opaque and oppressive hierarchical structure. HR is no help as they are overtly structured to protect management from employee complaints while enforcing their archaic approach to employee relations. Career advancement seems virtually non-existent if you work anywhere besides the Milwaukee HQ. I would not recommend this workplace.
