Pros

Room for growth with the proper qualifications Respect for the personal aspects of employees lives Always works to make schedules most efficient for the employees hours request and location to reduce drive time. This company grew quickly but efficiently. Of course there are always growing pains and kinks to be worked out but the staff, from RBTs to the CEO, have worked diligently to create a comfortable and productive work environment. This field often brings in young and inexperienced workers and everybody at BBA does a great job at working to support improvement and foster a potential career. BBA offers free supervision to candidates and fulfills at least the minimum 5% that the BACB requires, often closer to 10% for both candidates and the RBTs. Telehealth is used to support this need and to create a least restrictive environment as needed for clients who are in school settings or who have lower behavior requirements and are developmentally able to communicate through the computer. Every RBT that has passed their exam to become a BCBA has been offered a job as a BCBA in some capacity. Supervision hours are not immediately guaranteed as further training is required and client availability must arise, but pay changes as does the supervision requirement for the staff member. The clinic has a BCBA present at all times. The hours are met to the best ability as requested and the staff work to ensure that the clinic RBTs have great rapport with all clients so schedule changes are fluent as needed in order to make sure that staff get adequate hours and clients don't have to cancel when their standard therapist does. The company offers a cancellation rate and opportunities for non-billable, which is great during sick season! The pay is competitive. You are not required to request time off, just to try to give as much advanced notice as possible. They understand the need for mental health days and support physical and family issues 100%.

Cons

The benefits should change with tenure. For those who are looking to just do their work and go home until they change to something else, I don't recommend BBA. This company really, really cares about the clients and their future. That requires staff who care just as much and are looking to help better behaviors and skill acquisition in a compassionate manner. This requires more skill than looking at the job as babysitting or just doing the goals to get them done. The BCBAs, including myself, and the CEO provide feedback that is reflective of work. Because of the understanding that we are directly impacting children's futures, there are consistent and honest (but compassionate) reviews of work.
