Pros

Its a great place to work at. They really care about the potential of students. There are many ways that they work to engage families and support their staff. The benefits are great, and the salary is decent for a charter school in the district. They have an amazing persistence program and are open to feedback and changes.

Cons

As a person of color this place can stifle your growth. The executive director, while meaning well, struggles to release autonomy to her staff. A lot of people in leadership do not actually have the qualifications to be there (its a who do you know/who likes you game). This school operates under white privilege and often times (unintentionally however still impactful) gaslights anyone who questions what's happening. Students are often shielded from realities as kids of color and are made to think they are better than students who attend district schools. Its sad because this school has so much potential.

Pros

Solid pay Most teachers kind, welcoming, and work hard Nice building

Cons

Disorganized leadership (except for select few). No real systems, meaningless PDs on Wednesdays, principals have 0 backbone, and unsure who is in charge, multiple different ideas from different leaders and NO ONE communicates proactively. Controlling culture, autonomy isn't promoted unless it's done the "Boston Prep" way.
