Pros
The Herald provides a great platform for reporters with some experience looking to break into the big city scene. Some of the hardest working reporters and editors around. Competing with the Globe is the top priority, and over the years the Herald has done a lot better in this daily battle than it is given credit for.
Cons
Pay isn't great, but certainly better than dailies and weeklies in the suburbs or in smaller cities in other parts of the state.
