Pros

Very good pay and benefits. Starting out is a little above $20 in Oregon, depending on shift, and a very good medical/dental coverage and 401k. 40hr guaranteed at my facility. Unionized. Overtime is easily accessible.

Cons

You have to constantly remind/pressure supervisors to give you correct training, or protective equipment. Most trainees are assigned graveyard (10:30pm-6:30am) or rotate which is filler between the other shifts.

Pros

No face to face customers. Not very much turnover.

Cons

Because people stay, opportunities for advancement are limited if you can’t relocate.
