Pros

I worked for Boardwalk in College, and overall, I am glad I did. They have a good training program and help you learn the ins and the outs of the business. They have some really good tools at their disposal, including a massive apartment database covering all of greater Boston and tons of lead generation via their websites, trulia, zillow, etc. If you are a hardworking, enterprising individual you will thrive here. Since it is comission based, there is no fixed schedule, but you still need to put in the work to close deals. The beauty of real estate is that the ceiling is as high as you want to take it. I know guys at Boardwalk who started out doing rentals and are now making six figures a year on sales. It's all about how dedicated you are.

Cons

Direct bosses are fine but upper management can be brutal. They will not hesitate in threatening to fire you, especially if you are new. I've been yelled at plenty of times for no apparent reason. Don't work here if you don't have thick skin. It's a pain not being able to use the database and ad-maker outside of the office. The incentives to generate new business are also pretty stingy compared to other companies. Not a very comprehensive sales team or program either, as they mainly focus on rentals.

Pros

Incredible proprietary platform with an unmatched landlord database. The training program is top-tier and gives new agents a massive head start in understanding multi-family sales and rentals. The professional network you build here is also a huge asset for personal property management.

Cons

The Boston rental market is incredibly fast-paced and competitive, which can be intense to navigate if you are balancing real estate with other major commitments like graduate studies.

Pros

A fun fulfilling position that allows you to work at your own pace. Work that gets you into the field so you are not sitting behind a desk all day. A collaborative office with great company culture that strives everyone to be their best and keep morale high.

Cons

Must be self motivated. At mercy of market fluctuations.
