Cons
Management is incompetent and ineffective at handling conflict resolution between employees. They will hire anyone that can sell and don't require a makeup interview to give you the position. They feel that firing you, or you quitting then hiring someone else is the answer to employee complaints. The cycle only continues with that type of implementation. They accuse you of stealing from them yet they steal from you. I've had countless paychecks where hours were missing and I wasn't paid tips from clients that I performed makeovers for. They have freelancers that come from other brands and start drama and don't do anything except sit in the back and be lazy slobs while you sell their products for them. Management keeps a lot of mess going as well as far as playing the fence. Management will only contact you once the issue has reached a point of no return (i.e., you've already quit or did something drastic as a result of the underlying issue). I quit because I just was emotionally drained from all of the drama with my coworkers making up lies and then spreading lies to other stores. The coworkers are predominately older women that don't have anything going from themselves so when they see younger women who are on their grind come onto the scene they feel jealous and want to wreak havoc on their lives and try to ruin their good name and job. The $18/hour I was making was not worth it. Also beware that most of the individuals that have been with the company for over a year plus haven't received any type of raises. I came a few months ago and was getting the same amount as a girl that has been with the company for over two years and it was sad to know that. They don't care about their employees and replace you as quickly as they hired you. The money that you make isn't good enough for the suffering that you endure with all of their needy clients, drama-filled stores and incompetent management. They offer you a $50 gift card and 3-pieces of their M61 line after 30 days of service and you will never ever see any of it. I had some coworkers that were so jaded from the job that made me jaded as well. This company was acquired by Macy's last year and still operates as if it was in it's first year of creation. You also cannot freelance for any other lines or yourself whilst working for this company.
