Great Place to Learn - Account Manager Blue Magnet Interactive Employee Review

Pros

BMI was a great place to learn valuable skills right out of college. I was exposed to a lot and was given a lot of responsibility/independence right from the start. Benefits were great for the most part (flexible start time, casual dress code, work from home, and vacation days). The team was awesome and felt like a family.

Cons

Office politics. There doesn't seem to be a reason why some people get promoted or paid more than others. Quality employees often get overlooked for being reserved or because the business partners aren't aware of what they're contributing to the company. Health insurance was poor and had an extremely high deductible. There is also a lot of turnover, and employees rarely stay more than two years.

Pros

Blue Magnet has an excellent workplace culture that is inclusive and employee-centric. They provide great training related to the industry as well as your personal role. On top of that, there's plenty of outings and events!

Cons

None. Unfortunately my time was cut short due to COVID-19.

Pros

great office culture, CEOs are located very close and encourage conversations (yes, actual dialogue!), growing very quickly, but the best part of this position for me was what it did for my career. This is a small agency, but that means that its all hands on deck for nearly all tasks - you learn SEO, you learn SEM/PPC, you learn development and some basic coding, you learn social media management, you learn account management and reporting skills, you learn client-facing skills.....you learn SO much about so many different areas of web-commerce. I am very thankful to have this company and the experiences I learned on my resume!

Cons

Your basic "small agency" problems - some politics but not really anything substantial, sometimes frustrating when waiting on information or feedback from others, and the senior-level team can be very pushy and come off as aggressive. That being said, you need pushy people to make sure projects stay on time, people stay on task (it's so easy to go down the SEO-rabbit-hole!), and work gets done. Salary was below average, but makes up for it with great PTO options, insurance, team outings, etc.
