Pros

They keep the fridge well-stocked. Unfortunately, this is so they can keep their employees working through their lunch break. Management says this break can only be 30 mins, and you have to clock out for it. (No one does this, because they can't afford not to. I knew people who literally left for an hour just to get away from the oppressive management here.)

Cons

Average starting pay is awful, close to $13-$14 an hour. The minimum wage for DC is currently $11.50/hour. Let's do some math. $13.50/hr x 9 hrs/day x 5 days/week x 4 weeks/month x 12 months/year = $29,160. Many contracts will have a larger number closer to $40,000 at the top, saying you will receive a "bonus" at the end of the year making up the difference between these values. However, read the fine print carefully folks, because the bonus will only be provided when a 48 hour work week is met once all applicable leave is applied. This means you have to work at least 10 hours a day three days a week every single week (assuming you take literally no time off). So, no, all these reviews saying "overtime isn't required" are written by management because they don't want to give out that magical bonus (that no one gets) if you don't work overtime for a majority of the week. In my opinion, this place takes advantage of young college graduates who do not have a real understanding of fair pay and feel frightened of trying to fight for it so aggressively in their first job. If you're given a scam offer like this, counter it my little graduate friends. Absolutely refuse to work here unless you are given a salaried position. A friend of mine fought hard for one and won. It is possible. Don't let them mansplain "this is how the world works" to you and talk you down. Again, though, if this is what you have to go through just to receive fair pay, do you really want to work here?

Pros

BluShark cares about the quality of its business dealings and the quality o its employees. It's a very comfortable and rewarding place to work. They treat clients and employees with respect.

Cons

The only negative factor for me was the company changed its business model. Unfortunately, that did not include my position.

Pros

As a member of the recruiting team it's been amazing to work cross functionally with all of the department leads and hiring managers at BSD to help expand all teams. The people here are genuinely supportive and collaborative, there are so many opportunities to share ideas, be involved in company culture iniatives and grow as a team. We also use EOS so our management training has been extensive and it's been exciting to watch teams build out individual paths for growth for all employees.

Cons

No big cons, it's definitely a fast paced environment if you're on the client side of things
