For global data, the quality of your job really depends on the group you get. Many people have been working there for years, and they don't seem to grow out of it. Bloomberg will help you if you have a position you are more interested in, but it is easy to get too comfortable. Also, you have to enjoy watching the markets from the sidelines instead of participating. It is a data driven job, so it can be pretty boring and not too analytical.
