Ownership operates in a reactive, inconsistent way that makes sustained progress nearly impossible. Direction changes frequently, priorities reset without explanation, and standards are applied unevenly. Teams are asked to execute against shifting targets with little context or stability. Abrupt terminations are common and poorly communicated, which creates anxiety and discourages ownership or long-term thinking. Decision-making favors short-term reactions over disciplined planning, and internal politics often override sound judgment.
