Pros

Fully remote work environment for employees

Cons

Isn't that sad? That the only 'pros' to working in this company is that they offer WFH benefit for employees? Everything else from the management team to the top leaders are horrible. The team's morale and I'm pretty sure everyone else within the company is very low, I've lost count of how many layoffs they've done this year alone, some even done quietly until we find out ourselves days later. I have to agree with one of the reviews here, this company has turned 'soulless'. There's no culture at all, they try to act like they have one but no, they don't. Actually, I can think of 1 culture the company has - toxic, thanks to the CEO. There's no room for employees to be themselves or to express/communicate with team members since they've also cancelled/started controlling every single slack channels created. We get the work from home benefit but CEO wants an office environment kind of workplace - setting unrealistic requirements to WFH set up like making us clock in only 30 mins of break, it doesn't even affect the actual working hour time but of course the CEO has to control even that. The CEO is probably just too cheapskate to rent offices but wants everyone to adhere to how an office would run normally. All decision comes from the CEO, in short, he micromanages every little thing he can get his hands on. & every week we have new changes, either to how he wants the company to run blablabla, he changes his mind every 5 sec, my child doesn't even need a nappy change that fast in a day. You won't be able to sleep peacefully at night cause you won't know for sure what would happen to you tomorrow (since they also lay off colleagues who are performing). You're constantly in a state of worry, worrying if you'll have a job tomorrow, worrying if you'll have to follow any new changes tomorrow, worrying if the CEO will suddenly get pms and then decide to change the whole direction of the company etc. If you like this kind of thrill, then you'd probably like the CEO as a person and the company.

Pros

The engineering team is strong and truly cares about doing things the right way. We run systems at meaningful scale, billions of messages a day, so you end up dealing with real complexity. It’s not a typical SaaS environment, which keeps the problems interesting. We’ve also been using modern AI tools heavily to transform productivity, and people are strongly encouraged to experiment with them. There’s real ownership, and you can see the impact of your work quickly. Remote flexibility has continued to be a key benefit as well.

Cons

It’s a fast-moving environment and can feel chaotic at times, especially if you prefer a lot of structure or predictability. Priorities and processes have naturally shifted as the company has evolved. Communication across functions isn’t always perfect, and at times the pace has made goals or longer-term direction less clear than they might otherwise be.

Pros

Move fast, there is no bureaucracy. You have a lot of freedom to build what you want.

Cons

Significant leadership vacuum at the top. The CEO has laid claim to multiple titles, overseeing departments in which he has little competency. He has created a chaotic environment, fueled by anxiety, in which the overall goals are pathetically conveyed as promises of the next big thing, but in reality, the inability to manage large scale projects leaves teams perpetually pivoting to address the whims of the CEO rather than the needs of the product.
