Pros

Hybrid work. Snacks in the office

Cons

This company is a place where you will gain experience quickly, but mainly because you are forced to handle an unsustainable workload with very little support. The IT team was responsible for supporting around 700 users with only three technicians. After staffing changes, that number was reduced even further, creating situations where one person could be responsible for hundreds of users. There was no realistic contingency plan if someone had an emergency or needed time off. Management lacked transparency and focused almost exclusively on “crushing tickets” rather than addressing the root causes of the workload, improving processes, or ensuring proper staffing. Leadership from the service delivery side was weak and did not provide the guidance or support the team needed. Salary increases were minimal (around $0.50) regardless of performance, and there was no clear path for advancement. Hard work and good performance were not meaningfully recognized. This is a place where you can learn a lot in a short time due to the pressure, but it is not a place to build a long-term career.

Pros

There are many intelligent and hardworking people trying to “do good science”. They have a desire to make the processes more robust and help their colleagues even when they are drowning. Great stepping stone in life sciences before moving to a company that doesn’t repeat the same mistakes over and over again and hangs its hat on getting ready to be purchased versus growing a better organization for good of the people.

Cons

Everything is revenue, revenue, revenue. There is no moral compass and anyone with one is punished because they might impact their managers promotion or the sale of the company. The company is notorious for bulking up a department and then when they don’t give the expected results they are all fired and a new fleet is hired. The company sits back wondering why they can get any forward momentum. The motto had become “let it break”.
