Pros

Was quite a relaxed environment to work in until fairly recently. Jo Bradwell is a smart guy, sold up when he realised all the pros had gone elsewhere or retired. Trevor King and some of the other old timers were simply the best.

Cons

Now the company is under the full control of the investors there is way too much red tape and bureaucracy. Many of the managers are simply there due to length of service. Most of the properly qualified guys have long gone leaving fresh graduates doing entry level jobs. Graduates are coming in on 12k a year so that says it all really. It's a real shame that the now highest level don't practise what they preach. Guess they too are under unquestionable orders from the investors.

Thank you for your comments on your time at Binding Site. I agree Jo is a very smart guy who created a great company. He continues to be involved and regularly drops in to see how we are all doing as well as discussing with the Board the strategic development of the Company even though he is now retired. When Jo retired and new investors came into the Company they brought considerable new investment and have continued to support substantial investment every year since. However they have no involvement with the day to day running of the Company or have any say about the processes and procedures that the Company operates. As the Company grows new processes and procedures are needed to ensure that we can continue to manage an ever growing and increasingly international business. The business is now more than twice the size it was when Jo retired and provides products to over 100 countries which I think all employees should be proud of being part of and contributing to the on-going success of the Company. I am not sure how long ago since you left the Company but we are proud to support the Living Wage Foundation (in the UK, which is above the Living Wage set by the government) and ensure all our employees receive at least the Living Wage which (in the UK) is currently at least £15k per annum for full time employees.

Pros

I've been with the Binding Site for less than two years and it's been a great experience so far. Not only has it been fun to be part of such a diverse team, but it's good to know that the Binding Site has team members that have been with the company for more than 15 years (a few past 20+ years). My professional development is important to my manager and to the company; we all have the tools available for continuous growth. I look forward to a long career and more challenging opportunities.

Cons

More opportunities for field employees to interact with in-house employees

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your experience working at the Binding Site. We are always excited to hear that our employees are as enthusiastic two years into their employment as they were when they started. We do recognize that it is becoming more difficult to bring all of our employees together in one place. We will continue to have an “All Employee Event” as part of our National Sales Meeting and with the addition of our Demo Room and larger conference rooms in the San Diego office, we have seen an increase in the number of visits our field employees are making to the office. We hope that you and all of our employees will take advantage of these opportunities to interact with colleagues.
