Pros

Nothing comes to mind. I did work with a couple great people but they have since left or want to leave.

Cons

Product Performance: - The product lags behind competitors and doesn't perform when used. - Half of the website's customers have churned, reluctant to renew a malfunctioning and underutilized product. Leadership and Management: - The founders lack experience and believe they can handle everything independently. - VP titles and promotions are granted based on personal connections rather than merit, lacking performance validation. - The Product Management team has experienced a complete turnover, mostly due to voluntary departure. Organizational Culture: - The organizational culture is awful, marked by backstabbing as individuals try to avoid becoming the CEO's focal point for complaints that week. - Culture is built through uninspiring monthly Zoom happy hours. - The paradox of laying off 30% of the workforce and subsequently planning an offsite in Puerto Rico. Transparency and Reputation Management: - Despite claiming transparency, the company tends to manipulate information to instill false hope. - Employees are solicited for Glassdoor reviews in an attempt to improve the company's dismal rating, as evidenced by a sudden influx of 5-star reviews in November.

Pros

The company still has a small engineering team, so there are tons of opportunities to work on different types of different problems. - Scalability problems? Check - Rapid product development? Check - Distributed computing problems? Check The engineering team has great talent from some very large name brand companies (Uber, Amazon, etc) and has a very collaborative culture where there is no fear of bringing out of the box ideas to the table or experimenting and trying out ideas. I really do think this is a great place to work for engineers who are self-motivated, like to ship things and make an impact, and who want to do so in a friendly environment with great engineers to serve as sounding boards for ideas, code review, guidance, jokes, etc. As an aside, there is also a great worklife balance at Bigeye, they are quite generous with the number of vacation days in the vacation policy.

Cons

It's a work remote company. This can be a huge plus for some, it can be a minus for others, but it is something to mention if working on a remote team is not for you.
