Pros

Great pay and decent vacation. Some good people trying to make a not-so-great place better. If you're lucky to have a manager that trusts you, you will have a good deal of autonomy.

Cons

Bigeye is a startup they'll tell you. They will want you to be ok with anything that could be placed under that umbrella. From constant product, positioning, and team changes to micromanaging and lack of trust. Whatever the thing is that leadership believes will be the success of the company today will be different within a month. You can provide that feedback directly and it won't change anything. If you're too opinionated, you will be let go. If you hope to grow your career, this is not the place. They will reel you in with a big paycheck and then you won't see a pay increase (other than a minimal anniversary bump that they "really had to advocate for") or title change after that. Even the top performers stay at the same level year-over-year. Yes the economy and startup components factor in, but they are used as an excuse to not reward people. More people would be leaving if the job market wasn't such a nightmare right now and that's being taken advantage of. The expectation is to move and deliver quickly, but leadership constantly gets in the way of efficiency. That project you hope to launch in within a month? It will take 4x that, every time. And it won't be your fault, but you will be blamed. The sales team is a nightmare and has undergone several changes in leadership over the years, none of which have been strategic or positive.

Pros

The company still has a small engineering team, so there are tons of opportunities to work on different types of different problems. - Scalability problems? Check - Rapid product development? Check - Distributed computing problems? Check The engineering team has great talent from some very large name brand companies (Uber, Amazon, etc) and has a very collaborative culture where there is no fear of bringing out of the box ideas to the table or experimenting and trying out ideas. I really do think this is a great place to work for engineers who are self-motivated, like to ship things and make an impact, and who want to do so in a friendly environment with great engineers to serve as sounding boards for ideas, code review, guidance, jokes, etc. As an aside, there is also a great worklife balance at Bigeye, they are quite generous with the number of vacation days in the vacation policy.

Cons

It's a work remote company. This can be a huge plus for some, it can be a minus for others, but it is something to mention if working on a remote team is not for you.
