Pros

- in-office culture for those in Portland - effort put to walk the walk as far as healthy company culture - an amazing group of humans - fantastic user and audience base - legit, thoughtful content - a lot of people really excited to put their best work forward

Cons

- growing pains transitioning to remote/asynchronous software culture - shockingly bland vision from leadership for a company so thoughtful - two different company cultures trying to work together: west coast, in-house, animation studio HQ vs. growing east-coast software development shop - product delivery can be slow - more hierarchy than what seemed necessary at times (top-down) - some benefits promised at hire removed over length of tenure

Pros

Phenomenal leadership, mission driven environment, your well being as an employee is prioritized

Cons

Pay is lower than for profit equivalent jobs of course. But if you can swing the lower salary, the trade off is beyond worth it (and you know what salary range you’ll be in before you even apply)

Pros

- C suite has solid accountability to board, both of which are rooted in Christ - Really solid work/life balance. We work really hard, but the rhythms(which BP calls mode) support the right cadence for rest. - A company that actually lives it's values and holds each other accountable to them. - Treated as a business, not some church thing. Extremely responsible with money.

Cons

- Pay is low compared to the software/product/engineering industry. I would say the work/life balance makes up for this, for me personally.
