Plenty of room for advacement, especially if have connections. Being Hispanic is also a huge plus. Being in shape is another huge plus. Tons of overtime if you want to make six figures.

Forced overtime for the detention employees.

Good overtime,good training. Deputies willing to help the Cadets and rookies. Beautiful SERT team.

No contact with the outside world while in the jail. Smells in the jail are distinct. Bad work life balance. Mandatory overtime clause is abused. No real perks. K9 for Detention is canceled. The sitting Sheriff threatens to fire deputies all the time. He forces back to back mandatory overtime but he himself never stays. He loves the camera but not his deputies. Many deputies are overworked.
