Pros
A typical day could be up to ten hours. General staff: 8 hours. Pretty much everybody knows their jobs and their days are FULL. The hardest part of the job: When you know you have work to do and it has to get done. Managers are their own bosses and that makes them tough on themselves. The Culture: We stand by our employees. Sadly, only those that send reviews to Google, here and other places get heard. The best part of the job. It started 37 years ago with 7 employees . two retired last year-- 70 and 72yo, one is still here: 66yo. and me. The three others are among my best friends and were here to celebrate our 20th anniversary. Our GM retired last year 73. At least 8 employees have left just to return. Another is coming back next week. So, while there are those that are busy attacking the company, there are those who have confidence in it. Maybe the reviews are slanted!
Cons
The burden is on the younger person . There has to be a strong mix of determination and dealing with multiple service issues. The market doesn't have any more trained senior technicians. Most companies are avoiding techs being licensed. We can't do that. The apprentices, the younger need to be backed up, trained and know it's more than a job. that the tech is a part of the whole -- the whole being him, his customer and his company.
