Pros

Met some very cool people working here, learned a lot about bees and their biodiversity.

Cons

I don’t even know where to began. Working underneath an autobody shop basement with 1 bathroom for 40 employees is actually insane. Literally had to wait like school children to use the bathroom. The owners honestly couldn’t care less about their employees development. The owners have multiple properties in other states but cant invest ina large facilities for their employees to work out of. The communication with each team was wonky and unprofessional at times, the women who ran the HR department was not helpful at all and very condescending when asking a question as if it’s bother to her. It’s literally your job. She had a really bad attitude towards new hires who were not women. Half the company doesn’t know what they’re doing most of the time. No clear directions on your role if you work in the office, you basically need to figure out as you go. There really isn’t any growth in this company unless you become buddy buddy with anyone that has a position higher than you. Very cutthroat environment. New hires please steer clear from this company, it’s not what they make it to be. I don’t understand how they still get funding and are operating today with such a chaotic work environment and unstable communication from mostly everyone. You’ll get threatened to be fired or removed if you try to implement any new strategies. Such an awful experience, be very weary when applying here, it’s all smoke and mirrors.

Pros

I was a beekeeper for several years at Best Bees and had a lot of trust in leadership knowing that my knowledge and experience as a keeper in my region was cherished and communicated. Community was inclusive. Between the open dialogue of who and what we do, and being able to access all slack channels and see everything is super empowering. Also, fun to do education for the public too

Cons

Working out of a storage unit was tough and sometimes disorganized. Sometimes communications were confusing but asking questions was generally welcome. My manager was helpful

Pros

The coffee was decent and I learned a lot about bees in the first few weeks.

Cons

- I spent months in meetings where everyone acknowledged our inventory was broken—like, everyone knew—but there was this wall of not saying it out loud where it mattered. - I raised specific problems about communication failures between teams, I brought these up multiple times, and every single response was some version of "we're a great team" instead of actually addressing what I'd written. - Any legitimate concern I flagged immediately made me the problem, like the only acceptable stance was to smile and pretend systems that weren't working were actually fine. - Same issues got announced as "solved" in all-hands meetings month after month, like we were all supposed to forget that the actual work never happened, but mentioning that would wreck the vibe. - I could see clearly how what people in charge were saying and what was actually true were two completely different things, and I learned fast that naming that gap was a career move not to make.
