Pros

- As long as you are doing what you are told and not critical you can grow. - No other pros

Cons

- Shifts are terrible. Not 2 but 3 different ones. Sometimes you work 3 days late, 1 middle, 1 early, than 1 day off and starting early shifts again. No regulare schedules at all. - Thus no balance in private/professional life - Chairs are horrible and nobody cares - Computers most of the time not working, same as with chairs nobody cares - Management completely not knowing what they are doing - No answers at emails or feedback at questions (other than "look at the manual") - Often no 1:1 - Not taken serious - No communication at all - Salary good according to what the Maltese earn. But in comparing to the other employers on the island salary is low - AC is most of the time too cold. Not allowed to touch and the answer "24 degrees in the office is the best temperature to work". Or you freeze, or you cook. Even with the AC at 24 Celsius - HR bad - Hire and fire culture - No help at all to set up social security number, bank account (hard at Malta) etc. - Apartments are expensive. They tell you € 550 max? Well than you have a very small dirty studio when you are lucky. A normal apartment (nearby the office) will cost at least € 850 a month. Bills not included. With a basic salary around € 1100 how will you manage?! - Dirty, small desks - Flies in the office as the bin is not emptied every day - Unhealthy Fika's (sugar added drinks/yogurt/cookies etc.). The only healthy ones the fruits

Pros

This company take really good care of their employees. The managers and HR are super and you can always contact them to get help with absolutely anything. They are very good at promoting their staff too. You can chose if you want to work from home or the office. The office is really nice, and we have Swedish Fika every friday, fresh fruit, water, tea, coffee etc is always available. You can chose if you want exta health insurance that will be deducted from your salary which makes it real easy to add on if you chose. Benefits include eye test, menthal healt support, discount at gyms and more.

Cons

Not the best paying company on the island but as said it is easy to get promoted and for me being happy at my work means more than money .

Pros

Free food and drinks and the other people in lower positions made it bearable to work, when those people left, shortly after, I left. They have a gaming console and ping pong table but they are only there for display and to keep you in the office longer than your hours.

Cons

Management can be overly controlling, with a strong focus on micromanagement rather than enabling employees to work effectively. In my experience, the technology stack was outdated across several tools, and there were unresolved code vulnerabilities that I had raised before leaving. There also seemed to be a lack of transparency and fairness in leadership decisions, with management often appearing to prioritize internal relationships over employee concerns. Hard work was not consistently recognized or rewarded, and compensation felt below market expectations. Salary increases did not appear to keep pace with inflation, which made long-term retention less appealing. The company also placed heavy emphasis on frequent performance reviews, KPIs, and activity tracking. While this was presented as being for internal research or improvement, it often felt more like a tool for criticism than constructive development. I also found the company’s approach to employee wellbeing disappointing. During my time there, I was dealing with a family member’s illness, and it was difficult to get leave or meaningful support. Although the company appeared to promote a caring culture, that care did not feel genuine when personal circumstances became challenging. Overall, the environment felt overly monitored, under-rewarding, and lacking in meaningful support for employees.
