Pros

- Some remote opportunities - Organized office - Mostly paperless

Cons

There is a LOT of micro managing. Work environment can be catty and management does little to nothing to mediate between the parties involved when there is an issue. The pay is not nearly enough, it is practically 20k less than the average in NYC. The workload can be overwhelming and when you ask for overtime to be able to complete your job they question your productivity. They expect you to over achieve while also paying you as little as possible.

Pros

As my first post-grad job, I couldn't have asked for a better place to start. I was always able to ask questions about tasks, work, the legal field. Everyone is very kind and easy to talk to. The firm is normally a very calm, comfortable environment. There was flexibility in scheduling and remote options at times, which I really appreciated while preparing for the LSAT. Overtime opportunities as well during the busier season. Overall, very happy with my time at BL.

Cons

The nature of a job like this is generally monotonous at times, which can be initially hard to adjust to. It can be exciting whenever a new case or deadline comes along to shake things up.

Pros

Was consistent and reliable as a first paralegal role.

Cons

Didn’t learn very much that’s actually applicable to being a paralegal anywhere else. No challenges
