Pros

Interacting with and helping the clients

Cons

Management consistently failed to ensure the safety of staff and clients, both physical and property Abysmal handling of COVID-19 (deliberate understaffing, inadequate hazard and overtime pay, PPE not supplied) Failure to address abuse by and of staff (eg, client risk to staff, staff mistreatment and intimidation of clients, staff member sexually harassing female coworkers) Inability to ensure adequate staffing (eg, telling staff on one shift that they are required to work into the next shift regardless of prior engagements) Lack of communication - there were multiple instances where I would be working at a different house than usual and would not be informed of this Targetting of pro-union staff for disciplinary action

Pros

- they assign you the caseload - early intervention allows for good work life balance and schedule

Cons

little investment in CEUS/ongoing professional development and you are alone as the therapist in the family's home. So you have no mentorship, you are pretty much on your own. If you are an ambitious therapist that wants to be excellent in what you do, this is not the right setting.
