It is very easy to tell those who do their job because they care and those who are there just to collect a paycheck. - Anonymous employee Benchmark Human Services Employee Review

Pros

If you are actually there to help individuals with a wide range of disabilities, the work is rewarding, especially when families come to visit and they thank you.

Cons

Too many people are there just to collect a paycheck. The company (at least the Fort Wayne location) is so short on staff that they are really slacking on their training protocols, rules, expectations and discipline of employees. The turn around rate is extremely high and the clients suffer the most, especially if they are cared for by staff who don't truly care for the work they do. But, it is nice when you find and work with coworkers who actually do care.

Pros

- they assign you the caseload - early intervention allows for good work life balance and schedule

Cons

little investment in CEUS/ongoing professional development and you are alone as the therapist in the family's home. So you have no mentorship, you are pretty much on your own. If you are an ambitious therapist that wants to be excellent in what you do, this is not the right setting.
