This is not a good place to work - Bus Driver Belbaker Bus Charter Employee Review

Pros

Some vehicles in the fleet are new, which is nice, I guess. The boss has a Lamborghini which he drives to work, though, and if you're lucky maybe you'll be able to see it sometimes. He has a Bentley, too, so if you like rare cars maybe that counts as a pro?

Cons

Extremely high turnover of staff means no one knows what's going on. The vehicles aren't maintained, and the staff aren't supported. You WILL be expected to pay to fuel the vehicles, and getting reimbursed WILL require chasing up the admin staff. The admin staff are constantly revolving, so the person who asked you to buy fuel on Monday quite likely won't work there by Friday, so getting reimbursed is an arduous process. You WILL be expected to pay for your own uniforms. You will ALSO be expected to pay a deposit on electronic equipment which WON'T be refunded to you without chasing them up. Pay is below industry rates for Brisbane, and you will be reduced to half pay during waiting times. The yard is overcrowded and difficult to navigate. Communication between management and staff is extremely limited, for example, it's not unusual to turn up for a shift only to be told it's been cancelled. I recommend the Council buses, Transdev, Mt. Gravatt Coaches, or Park Ridge Buses before Belbaker. Seriously, only work here as a last resort.

Pros

Tried to think of something positive and I couldn't

Cons

Staff turnover is MASSIVE. You've done well if you last even a few months. You will receive zero training, but will be expected to know everything anyway. The agreed shift time doesn't mean anything once you've started, you will be told to work whatever they want you to. For their full time drivers, if they haven't given enough hours for the fortnight they will take the difference from their annual leave. If a driver makes any sort of error or damage they're expected to fix it on unpaid time. Owner demands to know exactly why drivers are unavailable for any time off, if they let you have it at all, even though they're casuals. Drivers still receive written warnings for accidents that are deemed NOT AT FAULT.
