Good Experience but Temporary - RBT - Registered Behavior Technician Behavioral Framework Employee Review

Pros

Management and onboarding is super helpful. They help you get your RBT credential, reward you with a bonus for getting it, and pay for the entire process. RBT credential is a very powerful tool for finding better employment. Good compensation, but on the low end for RBT work.

Cons

Might as well be a temporary position. Unless you are incredibly gifted with children, you’ll struggle to make any significant progress with your client. Most sessions will feel awkward and unproductive. Session inconsistency is the biggest issue here. I wanted this job to supplement my income with my other work, but that isn’t realistic considering the nature of the role. I think the best thing to do is get the rbt credential, and put in a paycheck of work and then move on. Looking to move on from this position asap.

Pros

Behavioral Framework offers so much support to their BCBAs. There are so many people you can turn to with questions, for collaboration, and for growth. You get to travel each month to the DMV area, meet amazing people, and work with the most amazing families.

Cons

Traveling each month can be a lot but after a few months of grasping everything, you’ll start to look forward to your trips like I did.

Pros

everyone is nice, remote work is nice, travel may be nice

Cons

they target things like hand flapping for reduction, fast turnaround times for deadlines, they hire anyone with a beating heart as a techician and they all treat it like a babysitting gig, they do not invest in r/bt onboarding. Travel can be a lot. Trying to get ADA accommodations were a losing battle for me, even though I have a disability; I felt they did not care and put metrics and "equality" first
