Is this your company?

To be honest, these guys aren’t fully honest. Don’t waste your time. - RBT - Registered Behavior Technician Behavior Change Institute Employee Review

Pros

After experiencing some shady behavior and skewed implementing of policies (in favor of certain employees and not others), I just lost all trust in these people, so, sadly, there were no pros because they weren’t very trustworthy. My trust in them was shattered.

Cons

It’s just weird to go through the whole hiring process only then to find out that most of the people at the top are related. In Zoom meetings it’s VERY clear who gets preferential treatment and who doesn’t. Preferential treatment as in, their decisions and opinions are never questioned, they are treated more respectfully than others and there is an air of extra confidence in the people related to the owner that they have a very high level of job security and comfort that is not given equally to all employees. I witnessed one favored employee consistently harass and abuse other employees who were below her (she was their superior). Nothing was done to address this because the lower people were really scared and were afraid of what would happen to them if they bring it up, so most of those people just quit. The pay scale is also very skewed. The higher ups make $60-$80+ and the people at the bottom make $15/ hour. I’ve also experienced the owner, Joy, make statements that she didn’t realize I was catching on to that exposed her deceptive behavior regarding several different events. She handled things in such a way that would make her and her company look good on the surface, but she wasn’t fully honest about how she went about getting her online presence to look so good. In short, she was sneaky about skewing things to make BCI look great. I absolutely don’t believe that all of the good reviews here are 100% true. The people here paint a picture of honesty and happiness, which may be true for some employees there, but the rest of the people (mainly RBTs) are cherry-picked in the hiring process and squeezed out if someone at BCI doesn’t like them. I’ve witnessed this a lot. I’ve heard clinicians say rude things about potential RBT employee candidates and watched them manipulate situations so that some people got preferential treatment in the hiring process and others got treated extra poorly so they would either leave or not pass all the hiring process. I’ve also witnessed plenty of bad mouthing by clinicians about RBTs behind their backs. This made me feel so bad. It’s just sad that people who claim to want to help others are the exact ones who hurt them in sneaky ways.
