My experience at this workplace was extremely disappointing due to inconsistent standards, favouritism, and poor management accountability. Certain long-serving employees were allowed to behave in an unprofessional manner and exercise authority in ways that negatively impacted team morale, with little to no consequence. Management standards were applied inconsistently. Employees faced disciplinary action for lateness and other conduct issues, yet similar behaviour from more senior members , including repeated lateness, appeared to be overlooked. Showing obvious double standards and undermined confidence in management decisions. Overall, I found the culture to be toxic, cliquey, and at times hostile. Favouritism, inconsistent policy enforcement, and a lack of accountability created an environment where employees did not feel they were being treated fairly.

Pros

Higher up management are amazing and care about employees, its not just talk with Beaverbrooks. They go above and beyond to support their staff. You will get the best customer service training ever! They are VERY fair with payment and rewards. Everyone is treated the same in regards to role and money. No negotiations, which I like, it shows we are equally valued. Bonus if you beat your targets for each financial quarter They celebrate success which is always great HR take allegations very seriously, everyone is heard and they are fair. They prosecute thieves, its not just talk. They wont allow customers to speak to you like garbage, you always have the right to ask someone to leave if they are being abusive. You get the best training in gems and metals to a certified level.

Cons

Only issue is sometimes the "customer is right" was very demoralising when you would stick to your guns when a customer complained about something, and even management agree, but for the sake of people pleasing, head office would often still give out "sorry's" and vouchers to not so nice or deserving people just to keep the peace. As with any job you wont always get along with everyone all the time.
