No one in upper management listens to people in the lab - Medical Technologist Baylor Genetics Employee Review

Pros

Very friendly coworkers, good work experience, good equipment.

Cons

No one in the upper levels of management actually listens to complaints from people in the lab who are actually running the tests. They will come into the lab about once a month for a tour and pretend to care, but they never actually listen. You also have to pay for parking, but that is common around the Med Center. Very unorganized between all the separate labs.

Pros

I’ve had a positive experience working remote. My direct management has been very clear about their expectations for my role. The workload is manageable. My coworkers are kind and passionate individuals who are always available to assist when I have questions.

Cons

The company has expanded so rapidly lately, and I’m uncertain what the future of my role will look like. New tasks are offloaded frequently to my team.

Pros

Ok medical insurance, not too expensive

Cons

Aggressive environment, everything is rule based, tight control over employees, multiple status reports to different lines of management on what you do weekly. No work and life balance, unreasonable expectations, have to work nights and weekends for a pay that's below average.
