Pros

Sometimes you get free food and there are a small handful of nice people just like everywhere else.

Cons

- Servers have bad attitudes and treat the host like the gum on their shoe and everyday is like a fight no matter how nice or peaceful of a person you are. - 4 hour shifts - Hosts are paid $4.25 an hour and they hide behind tips and dont want to pay you. You barely even make minimum wage - If you work the 12-4 shift as a host you are screwed. You just get a lousy $2 tip and that's it and there's nothing you can do. - They don't care if you are a student in school, they will schedule you anyway - They call and text you within 15 minutes if they call you in and EXPECT you to drop everything you are doing because it's all about Tripp's and don't care if you are busy or have homework. - They have too many hosts, and too many servers scheduled at once and it messes up your tips. You only get 3 tables. - For the hosts, you don't get volume shifts - They expect you to be busy at all times even if there's nothing to do - They argue with you if you quit and claim to pay all good and be the best restaurant ever and they take it all personal. -No raises - Management and servers talk down to you like your some sort of idiot. - They mess up your taxes on the W2 form - The restaurant has a dirty kitchen such as trash laying around. - They have their employees use glass cleaner to clean the menus not anti bacterial sanitizer. - They don't cut you when they say they will. - Management doesnt display the schedule in advance. Here's how it goes, they display it on Saturday about 2 days before the new schedule starts on Monday and get this... They make it 2 weeks advance and hide the schedule from you. How is one supposed to plan their life?? Or make doctor appointments? - They even cut you one hour later after you arrive which is such a waste of time and if your a server they are known to do this as well. Even if you get ZERO tables. - Outdated systems such as slow computers when putting in orders. The computers are slow and freeze up all the time. The table sections are all handwritten along with the table numbers and whatnot. It's all 100% handwritten the old school style. It's the cheap way out. This business doesn't care, they're just in it to win it. - People would always call out and expect you to take their shift not within 2 days but, 2 hours and people would do this all the time behind managements back without management signing approval on the swap. It would happen all the time. Constantly harassing you. - they also have been known to change the schedule suddenly without notifying you or writing it on the schedule and they get mad at you for not showing up?? - They don't care if you are in pain. This situation has happen to me twice. First off, i was in a car accident and my doctor said I couldn't lift up to 10 pounds and they wanted me to bus tables although, I was wearing a sling. The day after ky accident i was feeling sharp pain in my arm and they didnt want to let me off work and they expected me to bus tables and pick up 20 menus at once and they contiune to call me into work days after when i needed to rest. The other time, I was a server assistant and I was throwing up and they wouldn't send me home. They just told me to go outside and cool off. Two weeks after I quit it is payday. I arrive to get my paycheck and my tip out from my last day. So, they had my paycheck but, not my tip out. Why that would be?? I don't know. I'm sure someone stole it because they should be having it and be responsible with people's money. There has been known to be a lot of theft amongst employees.
