Pros

Working at Barry M has been a genuinely rewarding experience. As a family-run business, there’s a real sense of care and community here. It’s not just a place where decisions are made from the top down, everyone’s opinion is welcomed, and you’re encouraged to contribute to the bigger picture. The team is incredibly supportive, across all departments and collaboration is a big part of the culture. There's also a strong emphasis on maintaining a good work-life balance and celebrating wins together.

Cons

As with many growing businesses, some processes are still evolving – but the team is always open to improvements.

Pros

The working culture here is lovely and supportive, collaborative, and family-oriented. The people are genuinely kind and always willing to help, creating a warm and welcoming environment from day one. Management went out of their way to make my experience enjoyable, and HR consistently showed understanding and compassion, often going above and beyond to accommodate individual circumstances, even outside standard policy. The company’s approach to product development is equally impressive—exciting, fast-moving, and genuinely innovative. A great place to learn both personally and professionally.

Cons

The company could benefit from organizing more social events or team-building activities to strengthen connections across teams and departments.

Pros

- Enjoyed working with my immediate team (all roughly the same age) - Finish at 3pm on a Friday during summer months

Cons

- No growth or decent pay - HR is biased towards senior members of staff and will protect them above anyone else even if most of the company are complaining about them for bullying, lack of pay etc - No other benefits, won’t even acknowledge days like international women’s day and will be annoyed at staff for trying to do something nice - Senior members of staff are very controlling over talking, music, going to the kitchen for “chats” during the day (you feel like you’re at school being told off) - Senior members of staff do not listen in meetings when you’re presenting and are often rude and interrupting you - If you can’t get in for train strikes you have to make up that day in the office - The male cleaner is inappropriate with young female staff - No fairness within the company, you can tell who are shown favouritism - Only offered ‘more’ money if you say you’re leaving but before that you’re told there’s no budget - Products are awful and they don’t listen to the staff feedback but then are annoyed when things don’t sell - Once you leave you realise how bad the company is and how little you get out of it - They sulk with you once you say you’re leaving
