Pros

The pay is good and my coworkers were fantastic.

Cons

My experience here was short and not so sweet. As were the other 3 risk/safety consultants they’ve burned through in the last 2 years at this particular branch. Please read the other reviews for this company. I thought it was just bitter employees, but a lot of it is true. Also, if your background is from insurance carriers or from a broker, pay special attention. First, the job description based on the branch will vary. What they don’t say is that at smaller branches your job will also include spending many hours on the phone and in email handling claims, harassing adjusters for updates, dealing with disgruntle, hurt employees who aren’t getting their medical needs met and gathering paperwork for all the subpoena from workers compensation lawsuits. Didn’t see that mentioned in the job description, right? Didn’t think so. When you question them on this expect to be gaslighted into saying this was reviewed in the interview. No, it wasn’t. Certainly not to the extent that over 60% of you day is spent handling these issues. They’ll also tell you that you will undergo extensive training for months and not even meet with a single client by yourself until 3-4 months in. Reality is they will throw you to the wolves in 2.5 weeks and then discuss poor performance in 4 weeks if you’re not meeting expectations. They will tell you that you’ll spend 60-70% of your time in the field and that you can make your own schedule. Wrong again. Your expected in the office every day at 8 while you handle all the claims issues that come in. Oh, and be sure to bring your computer home every night just in case you need to provide a certificate of insurance to someone or need to do those last minute wc classification code audit. What, they didn’t mention that in the job description either? Surprise! They say that they don’t hire people right out of college because they want people who have experience. Wrong. Sure they want the experience but not if it interferes with their ideology and dodgy best practices. The micro-managing is the worst I have ever experienced. Are you used to working from home? Run far away as you’ll be forced in a bull pen office with constant disruptions. Worried about covid? Make sure to ask in the interview their best practices. Someone in the office didn’t believe masks worked and showed up to the office infected with covid and getting employees sick. Finally, you would think all the money they charged in services they would respect their customers. Wrong again. The amount of disdain they show when talking about during meetings was unsettling. 10/10 would not recommend. But the money is great!

Pros

Great team environment with supportive coworkers who are always willing to help and collaborate. Working with a variety of clients provides valuable networking opportunities and exposure to different industries, making it a great place to build professional relationships and expand your experience.

Cons

Leadership has declined significantly compared to previous management. A major concern is the lack of trust shown toward employees, which has led to an environment where people feel micromanaged rather than empowered to do their jobs effectively. Previous leadership encouraged open communication, listened to employee feedback, and fostered a culture of mutual respect and accountability. In contrast, employee concerns and suggestions are often not acknowledged or acted upon, leaving many feeling unheard and undervalued. There is a noticeable lack of meaningful listening and engagement from management, which has contributed to low morale and a growing disconnect between leadership and staff. The overall work environment has become increasingly negative, with a culture that does not consistently promote trust, collaboration, or professional growth. Additionally, there have been instances of inappropriate jokes and comments that create discomfort among employees, further contributing to a workplace culture that can feel unprofessional, unwelcoming, and unsupportive.
