Pros

I've worked at many companies that claim to value their employees, Barkley is the first I've felt that to be true. Fantastic flexibility options and a strong work-life balance focus. Diversity, inclusion, and mental health support are core culture values. You will work hard, but it's generally never more than you can handle, and you are always recognized for your involvement.

Cons

Not a lot of room for growth or advancement. poor health care plan.

Pros

Barkley is one of the best companies I've worked for in nearly 20 years. The work is challenging and the people are very talented. The culture is my favorite part. No micromanaging. Unlimited vacation. Relaxed, casual, you can be yourself and not some corporate version of you.

Cons

I've been given a lot of additional responsibilities than I signed up for without receiving additional compensation.

Pros

Decent laptops and hardware, gave you an iPhone, casual dress, reasonably interesting technology

Cons

It's an open floor plan. The entire company (except for the important people who have offices) get to sit at 8 person desks. So, little to no privacy. And while they have various sitting areas you can in theory go and do some work in, people "notice" that you aren't at your desk. It's the worst sort of peer pressure where the appearance of sitting at your desk is THE most important thing. Oh, and when the entire team goes out to lunch, what they mean is they all walk to get takeout, and eat at their desks, while consumed by their work. It's the most backwards thing I have every seen in any company I have worked at. And I was interviewed by a great team lead/manager, who was one of the main reasons I took the job. They didn't bother to inform me that he left, and I get the surprise of a new manager, who I didn't get the chance to interview with, and who I really didn't hit it off with. You can hear a pin drop in the office, because everyone chats all day long in the company chat rooms, how anti-social is that?
