Pros
Hard to get fired - really hard. People with anger management issues are kept because they can't find replacements. Another pro is that the salary information is available online - so you can see what you're getting into. Last pro - the hours, hardly any on-call responsibilities and it's less than 40 hours for the pay displayed online.
Cons
Everything, from dirty work environments to high levels of nepotism. People with political connections are constantly getting their second cousin a job by pulling strings. It's disorganized and lacking in the latest of anything. If it's free, they use it. If it's not, good luck getting it. There's no room for growth because it's a flat organization, and growth isn't supported.
