Pros

Creative opportunity. Variety in work. Well known company. Work experience.

Cons

Toxic work culture. Does not value their employees. High staff turnover. Understaffed. Overworked. Not progressive. Limited focus on employee wellbeing. Manipulative. Does not respect work life / balance. Despite Covid, discouraged working from home, instead insisting people had to either come into work or use their sick leave. Underpaid - well below market average and limited opportunity for growth. Pay reviews only happen once a year and are very minimal - 1-3% increase. Ambitious for growth, but stingy with resources. Takes on more work than plausible for the size of the company. Workload grows more than number of staff.

Pros

Staff are so kind, it’s a nice place to work as everyone is friendly and supportive to one another. (Not incl upper management, different story). Usually nice customers, gets trickier over summer with tourists. Flexible hours and managers are pretty good, they keep out of your hair once you gain their trust :)

Cons

Upper management awful, never heard great things and most clearly act like they don’t have time for you. Always short staffed, like ALWAYS. You get literally no training, just thrown in the deep end and have to hope someone else who has worked there for a while helps you out- luckily most will. Summer months are hard, lots of tourists which usually means language barriers, rudeness, asking for discounts etc. Gets a bit tiring but it’s better than other job i’ve ever had.
