Pros
The Team At Baker Hill, our product teams are stacked in the best way possible — with the right people, in the right roles, working in sync. We’re not a company of handoffs; we’re a company of collaboration. Cross-functional squads — design, engineering, product, data, and marketing — work shoulder-to-shoulder from day one. That structure has created real momentum. We ship faster, solve smarter, and stay aligned with what actually matters to our clients. There’s no ego, just purpose. Designers are seen as strategic thinkers, not pixel pushers. Engineers are problem-solvers and partners, not just executors. Product managers are vision-setters, not gatekeepers. Everyone is bought in — and that shared ownership makes all the difference. We challenge each other, respect each other, and most importantly, build together. It’s efficient, it’s energizing, and yes — it’s fun. The Leadership I’ve worked with Andy, our CEO, before — and I can honestly say: there’s no one like him. He’s a patent holder, a small business owner, a banker, and now, a CEO who leads with both vision and values. We’ve won awards together for our loan origination solutions in the past, and now we’re doing it again — with more purpose behind the work than ever. What makes Andy different is that he could make the story about himself, but he doesn’t. If anything, the company is working to tell his story, not the other way around. He leads with humility, empathy, and clarity — and that culture of grounded leadership trickles down to every part of the organization. He’s putting the human back in banking, and it shows. Not just in our products, but in how we operate internally — with care, honesty, and a deep commitment to doing right by people. If you’re looking for a company where leadership actually walks the walk, this is it.
Cons
Like many companies that have been around a while, there are a few people who are still a bit resistant to change — and that’s okay. Change can be uncomfortable. But it’s clear that Andy is on a mission, and the direction he’s taking the company is intentional and inspiring. The challenge is more about pace and mindset, not capability. For those who embrace growth, this is an incredible place to be.
Pros
There are still some wonderfully talented people at Baker Hill supported by incredible clients, but they are leaving in droves.
Cons
The new CEO and his posse have radically altered the core of the Baker Hill culture—due to ego, low emotional intelligence, and a “yes men” culture that stifles empowerment, collaboration and innovation—all things he professes to care deeply about. The customer used to be the center of the Baker Hill universe, but now it is all about “Andy.” How can we make Andy shine? What does Andy think? “Speed of the leader. Speed of the team.” is a call/reponse phrase akin to being in a cult, where the leader’s only goal is frivolous spending as quickly as possible for pomp and circumstance will no real vision or strategy, no focus on execution or delivery, until some day the rocket ship will crash at the bottom of the hill.
