Pros

Everyone there seems nice and camaraderie seems high

Cons

There was a gap between the interview and my hired responsibility. I was ok with a title difference but not with role swap. Suddenly it was expected that my personal phone was a work phone. I was signing documents that it was ok for me to use work communication on my personal device - definitely over reach. The program manager suddenly expected me to work east coast and west coast installs meaning I needed to be available for more than a 12 hour swing and on call. Heath benefits were below average. Didn't have the correct admin permission on day one. I couldn't even put in a ticket to report my IT problems.

Pros

Some really great people managers, really good goals and overall business ethics. There are great opportunities at BW for people who want to move up in their career. Great support for women to build up careers in IT industry adjacent roles.

Cons

Facilities are not great. Upper leadership is out of touch. When I started we had regular in person meetings with them, Multiple times a year they would be present for holiday meals and even cooked breakfast for the staff. Now they push coming back to the office 3+ days a week, and compare that requirement to other local companies that have offer a lot more facilities perks like in house childcare w/ discounts, onsite food options, and access to public transit. Meanwhile most of the upper leadership relocated during covid and are full time remote. Salary rates are not keeping up with current industry standards. Company re-org created multiple layers of management that causes significant bottlenecks in process improvement or communication/escalation of issues. There were not any real process improvements with this change, Too many teams doing things all their own way instead of having standard processes across the board for things like PTO requests, tracking project progress, managing project tasks.
