Pros
Friendly, Organized, Supportive Leadership. Employees updated regularly about new developments, Readily accommodate tutor preferences for hours and subjects, Remote work offers ideal work-life balance.
Cons
Tutors are not compensated for prep time, which can be extensive even for experienced teachers, since remote tutoring requires that all instructional materials be digital. This is part-time contract work, so it is not ideal for someone requiring dependable pay, hours, benefits. Parents can cancel at any moment and if the tutor is unable to reschedule the session, she/he will forfeit at least a portion of pay. This is not a criticism of Back to Basics; this is the nature of tutoring work in general.
