Pros

Good pay. Generally good people. Collaborative and easygoing environment.

Cons

Owner believes themself to be alert and aware of what's going on within their company. But in reality, they're too easily manipulated by middle managers with counterproductive agendas and not enough scruples, while they themself are unwilling (or incapable) of looking for and demanding the facts. There's also very little if any opportunity for advancement or career improvement. Congrats if you gain a position with BVS. But watch your back, because you'll be all alone.

Pros

There are some good people who work here (e.g., Michael Sacks). They can give you actionable advice on how to progress accounts, demo the product, and ultimately be successful.

Cons

Michael Sacks is (as of December 2024) in poor health. Accordingly, managing the sales team has fallen to Phyllis Simon, the CEO's wife. She confuses age with wisdom and thinks she is God's gift to sales. In your 1-on-1's with her, she will berate you for every little thing you did wrong. If you haven't done anything wrong, she'll make something up. Ever heard the phrase "there's no such thing as a dumb question"? To Phyllis, there's no such thing as a good question. She is not there to help you. Turnover has been a problem for years there, and of the half dozen former salespeople I've spoken to, each has specified Phyllis as the problem. If it was just me, fine, maybe I'm bitter. But it isn't just me.
