Pros

Working here will take you places you never thought! You will be empowered in more ways than one. Accept challenges gladly. You will be glad you had the opportunity to receive the challenge. Fun - Recreation, so something is always going on and you know that some part of it, had to do with your role there.

Cons

There are no negative comments to share about this organization. You will be proud to be a public servant. There is just about a park on every corner that you can associate your hard work with.

Pros

The staff at the zoo and BREC as a whole are all wonderful. The organization does a great job with the onboarding process, both in terms of knowing what you'll be doing in your position and knowing about the organization. The volunteers for the education department are also all great at what they do.

Cons

The pay was not competitive. For a full-time zoo educator, it was less than $15 an hour. There were also expectations of performing many different duties, including, but not limited to, animal care (cleaning, diet preparation, and enrichment), scheduling programs and organizing their payment, and leading programs at the zoo and off-grounds.
