Pros

I worked with some nice people from France, the US, and other countries.

Cons

-Inadequate business development in US…no new clients; the only new ones provided are by France subcontracting work to the US office. -Medical benefits cost at least 15% of your salary and have very high co-pays and out of pocket costs. -Most employees not given opportunities for training (within their department, cross-training, or off-site supplier training). -Upper Management method to conflict resolution: ignore it and hope it goes away, or justify by saying 'so-and-so is just having a bad day'. -HR is not objective and shows favoritism. -Management routinely denies vacation requests of some employees or guilts them into not taking the time off, or does not approve use of comp days earned. -Management continually adds responsibilities to reliable employees when others won’t take responsibility for their own work (without repercussions). -Management is writing positive reviews on Glass Door to try to counter the negative ones. -When visitors to the Sugar Land office observe some of these same things and make comments, you know there is a problem.

Pros

I enjoy working on a variety of different projects that challenge me in new ways. They took me on as an intern in the summer after my junior year of university, then when school started back up, they hired me on as a full employee, even before receiving my degree. There are regular one-on-ones with my manager to discuss my career goals and discuss how I can achieve them. I feel valued and trusted and like I have a future here. Questions are always welcomed, lots of friendly coworkers, a nice, new office, and fulfilling work make this a great place to learn and grow.

Cons

Lots of the management have too much to handle, so sometimes details slip through the cracks. This also means that they are not as available for questions, meetings, etc. The company is in the process of a restructuring that will hopefully alleviate this, but for the time being it does create some issues. The executives are in the same situation, and anything that needs executive committee approval will take a very long time to go through. Great people all around, but not enough of them to cover the required workload.

Pros

My supervisors and peers were very welcoming and provided me with a lot of knowledge within my field and knowledge that they wished they had when they were my age. I was exposed to the meetings, fabrication, and internal work of everything. To a certain extent, of course. However, they made sure that I was well educated on the systems, and workflow. I wish my internship wasn't cut short. If you are a student, I highly recommend Boccard because they work with you and your school schedules, unlike some companies.

Cons

The reason why it was cut short was that the location was still trying to recover from COVID-19 so a lot of work was behind and poorly done, communication was non-existent, and multiple people had to fulfill different duties in different areas. New management came in and laid off a good amount of people and I was included.
