Better than average, but still needs improvement - Fixed Operations BMW Portland Employee Review

The shop was well lit. There was paid training Everyone was very helpful You get to drive some of the coolest cars in the world. It's a clean facility. They fix broken equipment. They will buy shop tools if you ask. Gloves are provided. The best service manager I've ever had. A great foreman too. Hot chocolate & bad coffee for free in the break room. They have a shower. There are two very excellent service writers. Most parts guys are good. All except one, & I feel bad for that one.

The dispatch of shop tickets was a constant issue. You won't get good work unless you learn to play the game. There isn't any money for new techs to get raises, because there are already so many high paid, A-level techs. I.e. you won't make top dollar here. It's a team system. One team is pretty good & they look out for each other. The other, not so much. Back stabby, whiny, cry babies. My team was the latter. So dispatch might be okay if you get on the good team. The paperwork, my God, the paperwork. It's overwhelming. You'll be bogged down by video taking, CDK, & inspection sheets to an average of 15 minutes per RO. It's an average 10 minutes just to get your assigned car into your bay. Parking is bad too.
