Pros

I have been working for BJB Properties/ BJB Evanston for close to 10 years and I can truly say that BJB CARES. For those that claim that BJB doesn't care it is not true. Employees are treated well and there are many individuals that work very hard each day to continue to develop a successful team. Like any other company you’re required to follow a schedule and do your day to day duties. When you do, it is seen and rewarded. Employees are appreciated, but you need to try and do your best. I started working for BJB as a leasing consultant/office assistant and was promoted to a property manager after several years gaining experience. This proves that there is room to grow in this company. BJB has been accommodating and generous to work with me (and many other co-workers of mine) by adjusting the schedule so I/we can finish our education and graduate. BJB is a family-owned company, and they know their employees really well- meaning you’re noticed! I cannot express in words how blessed and thankful I am to be able to work for this company. We spend the majority of our time at work and having a good working environment is very important to me. BJB has made me happy and successful. They listen to our needs, appreciate feedback, and make changes to be sure we maintain a high level of service. Special “Thank you” to our wonderful owners, HR Department, and the rest of the team for being amazing. I treasure BJB for the opportunity they have given me throughout the years.

Cons

Seasonality of work: During the summer period, work can be a bit overwhelming; however, this balances out during the off-season when the market slows down.

Pros

I worked as a Seasonal Office Assistant for BJB Properties at their Millennium Park Plaza location. I was there for the summer of 2024 and 2025. Since the start of the position, the staff was incredibly welcoming and helpful. I was given responsibilities in the office that I enjoyed doing and had my ideas heard and implemented. I was also always made to feel important to the team, which may not always happen while being in a seasonal position. The corporate staff members were also incredibly welcoming and always willing to help with any questions that I had.

Cons

The corporate location can be located quite far from your office location. You won’t need to be here often, but in the rare occasion that you do, prepare for a bit of a commute.

Pros

- great training & point of contacts when it comes to having questions about anything from leasing to policy. -Pay was OK. It could have been better, considering that Chicago is a good place for real estate -You get to work in an office alone, so if you finish working early you can focus on other things

Cons

Some of the residents were dangerous and unpredictable, which made me question safety while working in my buildings.
